While I was travelling around the country on the tour over the past few months I took a step back from the day-to-day of the practice for the first time in about 18 years with my dog Keira – and I learnt something very important that I’d like to share.

Many of us, including me, work hard for things we feel we should do, create, or achieve because we think that ‘how’ we do things may make a difference, may allow us to feel fulfilled, may sublimate our fears or our feelings about ourselves.

While travelling doing the tour writing the book, I learnt one very simple thing – and that is searching for stuff outside yourself – whatever that is for you or for me – will never bring us happiness.

We only gain happiness when we take a good long look inside ourselves for the ‘why’ to do it – and not the ‘how’ to do it

I have learnt that if your reason ‘why’ is big enough then the ‘how’ will miraculously appear if you have faith in yourself and your purpose – your reason big enough.

So my New Year message for you today is that the WHY is always bigger than the HOW.

Wishing you and the animals you love smiles and happiness today and all the way through 2019… Thanks for being on this journey with me. Onwards!
